Anton Nijholt is an emeritus professor of computer science at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. His research interests are human-computer interaction with a focus on entertainment computing, playable cities, humor and brain-computer interfacing (BCI). He edited various books, most recently on playful interfaces, playable cities, and brain-computer interaction. He is co-editor of the Handbook on BCI that appeared (Taylor & Francis) in 2018. Nijholt is the author of hundreds of journal and conference papers and a few books. Nijholt is Chief Editor of the section Human-Media Interaction in the journal Frontiers in Psychology and editor of the Springer Book series “Gaming Media and Social Effects” and “Computational Social Sciences”.
